Abstract: Philosophers in patristics and scholastics intensively dealt with the question whether it is possible to prove a Christian theory of creation and genesis of the world rationally and defend it. Letʼs suppose that if a Christian author revealed inaccuracy and internal contradictions in theories which give the proof about the eternity of the world, it wouldnʼt mean that he proved the Christian conception of creation in this way. The Christian author moreover can defend the biblical interpretation of the creation and genesis of the world. However, the defence is unacceptable because only that one who defends the truth about the creation and genesis of the world comes by the belief in this truth. The aim of the article is to elucidate the main thesis of some medieval thinkers which relate to the issue of the eternity of the world.
