Abstract: The following text attempts to map Patočka‘s theory of three movements of human existence from the perspective of human finality. The aim of this analysis is to prove that death not only is not an antipolitical event, but that it, on the contrary, participates fundamentally on the constitution of the human society. Not only in the form of radical sacrifices, as Patočka describes it, but also in our daily interacting with other people, in which we risk ourselves and the possibility of not being. It turns out that only because of this interaction with others and engaging in the story can we get something like immortality.

Key words: Jan Patočka – Interaction – Death – Finality – Movement – Sacrifice – Polis
