Abstract: The paper briefly outlines the issue of the importance of intuitions in contemporary analytical philosophy, the most common ways of understanding intuitions in the philosophical discourse, focusing rather on their epistemological role and abstracting from the investigations of the philosophy of psychology and the philosophy of mind. The aim of the paper is to compare the specific understanding of intuition as advocated by the representatives of intuitionism, with contemporary views on intuition presented in philosophy.

Key words: Intuitionism – Intuition – Knowledge
