Abstract: The text exposes Heidegger´s question of being as the question, which is expected to provoke every philosophy to confront itself with the claim of the philosophy as a “reality“. Question of being rendered this way cannot be effectively articulated as crucial when interpreted as an episode in the development of Heidegger´s thinking, or as methodologically inevitable presupposition of the failure of Heidegger´s Being and Time. The question of being exemplifies the call for “deciding for philosophy as reality“, instead of only accepting it as one of anthropologically articulated possibilities. The reality of philosophy in this sense represents a commitment, which is impossible to reduce to the problem of a thematically oriented philosophical explanation. The question of being is, in our opinion, accessible as the question of the reality of explanation.
