Abstract: This essay is focused on the problem of searching for unambigous limits of negative liberty by Isaiah Berlin. The aim of the text is to emphasise and analyse some points of views, which confirm a flaw in Berlin’s ideas. The essay is divided into four parts. The first part indicates the problem of clearly expressing the content of freedom and the ambiguity of its definitions in negative form preferred by Berlin. In this reagard, the text implicitly suggests urgency in fin-ding a definition of its limits. The second part focuses on fragments of negative freedom which have an impact in identification of bord-ers of liberty. Due to this reason, the text intents to refer to several points threating Berlin’s understanding of negative freedom, such as existence or absence of obstacles, the problem of nonfrustration leading to comprehension of freedom as nonintervention. The third part of essay includes an interpretation of Pettit’s argumentation against glorification of freedom as non-frustration. The fourth part mentions liberty as non-interference in a particular area, which is of fundamental importance to Berlin. The text notes that despite the many aspects which can support his idea, there are arguments and factors that refer to the idea’s defectiveness.
