The article is focused on the problem of humanism. Charity is consi-dered an important aspect of humanism. Advocating charity, the author draws attention to the danger of its absolutisation. Charity is unfair because it goes beyond the principle of giving everyone what he deserves. The author defines the idea of a good society, which should become a higher criterion of moral good.
